You do not always need a licensed lawyer in all your legal matters, what you need is legal help that would, more significantly, provide you the same quality and professional assistance at reasonable, cost-efficient rates – our most vital objective is to be able to offer you what you need. AJ Law LLP’s Licensed Paralegal would be willing and capable to do that exact thing.
You can sue an individual or a corporation for a sum of money you are owed or for damages by filing a claim in the Small Claims Court. Before January 1, 2020, you can file a claim in Small Claims Court should the value of the lawsuit be $25,000 or less, excluding allied interest and costs. However, the Ontario government has increased the maximum amount of claims that can be made in small claims court to $35,000. This welcome development would in effect aid to expedite civil cases which usually take years to be resolved in the Superior Court of Justice. Further, this increase would correspondingly permit the engagement of a paralegal instead of a lawyer, who commonly charges more than the former.
It is noteworthy though that in AJ Law LLP, our lawyer works hand-in-hand with our licensed paralegal, giving our clients legal service that is easy on the pocket yet heavy on the legal strategy. The changes took effect last January 1, 2020.
