Domestic Violence

Under Section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada, every one who commits as assault is guilty of (a) an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years; or (b) an offence punishable on summary conviction.

Uttering Threats

Based on Section 264. 1 of the Criminal Code, every one who commits an offence who, in any manner, knowingly utters, conveys or causes any person to receive threat: to cause death or bodily harm to any person; to burn, destroy or damage real or personal property; or to kill, poison or injure an animal or bird that is the property of any person is guilty of an indictable or summary offence which may be punishable of imprisonment not exceeding 5 years.

Youth Crimes

The Youth Criminal Justice Act modifies the Criminal Code for individuals aged 12-17. In YCJA, there is a higher emphasis on rehabilitation, monitoring, and reintegration in the community.
